Some time ago, in March 2008 I have seen this young man (then 24) for the first time in my 2nd living room, the famous
. He allready has released his 2nd. CD then and he came to Berlin for his very first time.
Me and everyone else were deeply impressed by that "rough diamond" he was then.
His talents developed and matured enormously since these days. This diamond
gets shinier and shinier ever since I went to one of his shows.
This man can play - no he IS; he ACT OUT Rock and Blues and Soul, he's
funky, he's a excellent guitar-player, a gifted songwriter and exciting
live performer.
I can't praise him enough. I could write an eulogy about him.
He won the Australian Blues/Roots Performer of the Year Award, he
represented Australia in the International Blues Challenge in Memphis,
Tennessee. He shared bills and stages with people like Chris Whitley,
the legendary Big Jack Johnson, Chris Isaak and Jeff Martin and many
others.
I'm very proud that Jaimi (pronounce: tcha-my) accepted my invitation.
If you allready do know him, you know what to expect.
If you don't know him, do yourself a favour, come and see him, in a
couple of years you can tell everybody: "I once saw him in the
Fahrradkeller" and people will get jealous!
You can find some mp3 s
here (some amateurish recordings I did).
And if you "google around" you'll find plenty of MyTube clips.
I'm a strong supporter and enjoy-er of independent music &
musicians.
For quite a while, my house is a place for wandering troubadours to
stay and relax and explore my hometown Berlin and have a good talk and a cold beer.
I'm doing house-concerts just for the fun of it and also to
introduce my befriended musicians to people i know good enough to believe they will enjoy this music as much as i do.
Usually there is a house-concert every month (sometimes 2 a month) in my
basement which can hold up to 30 people comfortably.
